WHY ATTEND THE Women in Tech Conference?

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Even though we are working from home, it’s important to continue growing professionally by participating in various online summits, webinars and conferences. Yet it is equally important to inform your boss about your plans so you can fully dive into the event and enjoy the experience without being afraid to be “uncovered” or feeling guilty for not having communicated it with your manager. Here are some tips on how to convince your boss and receive “the green light” to use your working day as a day to learn from top industry experts, expand your network and upgrade your skills.

Step 1: Have a look at the tracks and speakers. The conference is free to attend so there is no need for allocating a budget for travel, stay, tickets, etc. Your boss should be definitely happy about this benefit!

Step 2: Create a schedule with a list of keynotes / sessions or/and summits you'd like to attend. The full agenda is coming soon, some speakers are hard to get on board :)

Step 3: Define your top three reasons for attending and how is it beneficial to your professional growth and thus to the company you work at:
You will want to explain to your boss as clearly as possible why this conference is unique and why it is worth attending. Don’t forget to mention that the mission of the network is to unite 100 000 women in tech to share, exchange and learn from each other.
You will want to add that you will position the company while networking with other international participants from all over the word.
You can also mention that learning from world-leading speakers who are experts in the tech field will help you (and thus your company) save time (which equals money) to figure it out on your own. Check out which tracks are the most relevant to your company.

Step 4: Send a formal request-email to your boss (if required).

We hope you found these tips helpful and we are looking forward to seeing you at our conference! Stay safe!

Dear [Manager’s Name],

On May 12-15 the WomenTech Global Conference 2026 will be hosted virtually and I would like to attend. Right now, I can get a great deal on tickets (www.womentech.net/tickets).

I would like to join the virtual conference together with 100 000 women in technology across the world and learn from industry leaders and peers from the tech community. I will have also the chance to contribute to the conference and to make an impact growing the WomenTech community across the country and beyond.

The event will offer online sessions from companies like Amazon, Etsy, Facebook, Founder Institute, Google, Harvard, IBM, Microsoft, Netflix, Twitter and many more, and cover various engineering, product management, UX and work-from-home related topics.

I am sure that my participation will beneficial to improve my skills, motivation, and performance. I'd be more than happy to share the key insights with my colleagues and discuss how we could implement some of the takeaways in our current and future projects and position us as an employer of choice supporting diversity & inclusion.

Here is the event link: https://www.womentech.net/women-tech-conference

I was wondering if the company can cover my ticket as an investment into upgrading my skills.

Kind Regards,
[Your Name]
